Sometimes we can’t help but associate music with certain times in our lives. I get obsessed with bands for a month or two at a time, so the effect is particularly strong with me.
Of course, hilarity ensues when I remember back to my WoW days. Dispatch is now associated with my level 60 warlock playing in battlegrounds; Tool is associated with leveling that warlock to 70 and then playing in Arenas; and RHCP (Stadium Arcadium, specifically) is associated with my reroll, the shaman.
He’s still stuck at 51, that poor bastard. But every time I turn on the album I get this near-uncontrollable urge to restart my account and finish leveling him off. And I’ve been listening to that album a lot, lately…
